Utah was the 45th state in the USA; it became a state on January 4, 1896. The states name means, “people of the mountains” and features a dry, semi-arid climate. Salt Lake City is home to the states renowned ski resorts. There are five national parks in Utah that provide many recreational activities for visitors: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion.
