New Jersey was the 3rd state in the USA; it became a state on December 18, 1787. The first officially recorded game of baseball was played on June 19, 1846 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The internationally renowned resort city, Atlantic City, was the city that inspired the popular Parker Brothers board game Monopoly.
