The battle of Bunker Hill took place at Breeds Hill on June 17^th, 1775. This battle was during the siege of Boston and a very important part of the Revolutionary War as the first major battle. The battle was a victory for the British as far as winning the ground, but taking in to account the casualties and overall impact of the battle it also did great things for the Colonists.

Bunker Hill Day is a legal holiday in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.  It is celebrated with parades and events all over the County and city of Boston.  There is a Congressman that is trying to make Bunker Hill Day a Federal Holiday due to the importance of the battle in The American War of Independence.  There are also several arguments as to the validity of Bunker Hill Day as an actual Holiday.

Today the Bunker Hill Monument is a 221 foot granite oblisk and is park of the National Park Service.
