Nevada became a state on October 31, 1864 and was the 36th state in the United States of America. At 110,567 square miles, Nevada is the 7th biggest state in the USA and also the 35th most populous state. Although the largest and most well know city in Nevada is Las Vegas, Carson City is the capitol.
